One Year/Semester Program

One Year/Semester Program (OYP) students benefit from a diversified academic experience while earning credits that may be transferred to their home college or university. A wide variety of courses, offered mainly in English, may provide credit in such areas as archaeology, business, history, literature, philosophy, religion, communications, international relations, political science, psychology, sociology and science. The OYP program is open to students who have advanced standing at their home school.

Freshman/Academic Gap Year Program

The Freshman Program offers high school graduates the opportunity to take academically accredited courses at the Hebrew University in a framework designed for first-year university students who are planning to continue their undergraduate studies in their home country or may be considering studies in Israel.

MA Programs

The programs of the Division of Graduate Studies are designed to provide students from abroad, ranging from recent college graduates to students pursuing a master’s degree as well as doctoral candidates, with the highest level of academic courses in a select range of scholarly disciplines

Community Leadership and Philanthropy Studies

This intensive two-year program is designed to create a cadre of community leaders with cutting-edge skills and ample theoretical and practical knowledge in the areas of leadership and philanthropy, who are acquainted with the Third Sector, i.e. non-profit organizations.

Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies

This intensive two-year program is designed for students who wish to study Middle Eastern history and culture with a focus on the modern period. Courses will span the spectrum of Middle Eastern and Islamic studies, offering in-depth interdisciplinary instruction.

Jewish Civilization.

This intensive two-year program is designed for students who wish to study Jewish culture and sources throughout the ages. The courses, taught in English, span the spectrum of Jewish studies, offering in-depth interdisciplinary instruction

Jewish Education

The two-year MA program in Jewish Education, taught in English, acquaints students with the theory and practice of Jewish Education, both in the Diaspora and in Israel.
Summer Courses and Special Programs

The Bible and the Ancient near East

This intensive two-year program is designed for students who wish to study contemporary Biblical (Hebrew scriptures) studies, providing grounding in Biblical as well as Modern Hebrew.

For over thirty years, the Rothberg International School has offered a broad selection of summer courses and special academic programs open to undergraduate, graduate, and mature students with a variety of courses to choose from.

Religious Studies

This intensive two-year program is designed for students who wish to study religion from a wide array of historical and cultural perspectives. Courses offer a broad range of encounters with religious phenomena while emphasizing interdisciplinary and comparative research methods.

Israel Politics and Society

This intensive two-year program is designed for students who wish to study Israeli society and its politics, including central issues and problems facing modern Israel.

The Honours Programs in Middle-East Studies and in Israel Studies

Held in the spring semester this program is open to a limited number of students who have advanced standing or are majoring in Middle East studies, Israel, International Relations, or Political science.
